Three Brothers (Tre Fratelli) explores complex social and political issues through the story of three siblings returning to their native southern Italy to pay homage to their late mother. Three of them - a Judge in Rome, a spiritual counsellor in Naples and a factory worker in Turin - have different world views, evident when they meet. Rosi uses the relationship between the siblings to foreground contemporary Italian reality intertwined with hope, despair and with each other.
