About The Event
The films at the festival have won critical acclaim in major film festivals – Sundance, Rotterdam, IDSFFK (Kerala film festival), Busan, New York and other festivals. Focus of the festival is on young film makers working in diverse areas of the country from Kashmir to the North-east. The films at the festival explore issues of migration, gender, uneven development, issues of geo-politics, environmental degradation, political & ethical questions.
There will be post screening discussions with the filmmakers at the festival. There will be a retrospective on Adoor Gopalkrishnan.
The festival is a result of the collaboration between film maker friends, students from Film Society of Ravenshaw and the artist fraternity. The film festival hopes to encourage young filmmakers by providing mentoring opportunities with master film makers.
